Best Small Vacuum For Apartment (2023 Update)

I bought this to clean up kitty litter my cat tracks everywhere. I had been using a Dirt Devil (similar small vacuum) but as not pleased with its performance. So far, I prefer this one. But be real – this is a "toy" vacuum, meant only for light sweep ups. This one was easy to put together, its light weight, and works fine with small messes.anniedancer50

This little guy is super awesome and makes clean up super fast and easy, just what I was looking for as with having osteoarthritis I can't always sweep my wood floors, this even vacuums small rugs in the bathroom that are thick and shaggy. I am super happy. Only issue is the head rolls around while using I guess to get every direction but it's easy to maneuver.ramgar17

Not a carpet vac but it does clean bare floors and scatter rugs. Doesn't suck the rugs up like a really powerful vac does. No brush roll but nothing for long hair to get tangled in, either. More powerful than a cordless vac and the cord is long enough.margaretw465

I purchased this vacuum t have something that would clean up little messes in my truck, or house (I have kids). This is the perfect vacuum for someone with messy children (all of them) as it conveniently (and effectively) removes messes my children make. This product is true to being lightweight and efficient. I just wish it came cordless, because the cord isn't long enough to have it reach further than about 14 feet. Happy to have an extra attachment for the hard-to-reach places. Also, it isn't too loud when it's on. I'd recommend if needing for a quick use or possibly for an interior car job. I bought this particular vacuum because I had used one at a friends's. I ordered mine on June 23rd and received it the next day! I was so excited! Three days later my friend called and said not to get the vacuum because her battery stopped charging and she had only had it for 4 months! Well, I kept mine thinking hers was a fluke but nope! After 4 1/2 months, my battery has stopped charging! I have tried to call the 1-800 number but it keeps saying "due to weather" they are closed and to call back. IF someone has any suggestions about what to do, please let me onow. I reallly liked this vacuum when it worked. Everything about was great….except now, the battery!Sad DRB in Florida

I've had many vacuums over the years and this is the worst. I extensively research items before I buy them to be sure they have the features I'm looking for, which is why I chose this product. If I could send it beck, I would. The dust cup disconnects from the handle regularly and already I've lost suction. It completely disconnects and falls apart with very little handling. It doesn't "prop up" on anything in my house like it says it should. Eureka is a good brand and I've had other stick vacs but this is awful.Jo

When I unpackaged my Eureka Rapid Clean pro, my first thought that it was too light weight and didnt look like it could handle much nor would the battery big long enough to make it around my house. I will say that I own a Kirby, Dyson, and no this Eureka so I have quite a bit to compare it to. Style wise it was similar to my Dyson V6 but not nearly as heavy. Super easy to assemble- I didnt even bother reading the instructions. I charged it up and took it around the house. Lucky for this review we are renovating our home so there is plenty of dust from hanging, texturing, and sanding drywall, 60 year old insulation fluff in and on everything and every corner and much more. I've been using my Dyson primarily before I received this just because its easier to grab- the Eureka Rapid Pro is MUCH lighter and just as easy to cart around. I LOVE that the head of the vacuum seems to sit really low to the ground where my other stick vacuum is a little higher and tends to grab things that are "too big" for it to handle and thus just shoot it out of the back- this Eureka is low enough that it doesnt really grab what it can't handle. I also love the extra wheels on the head allowing for REALLY nice range of motion.. and the LIGHT! Never thought a light on the head of a cordless vacuum would come in so handy but its life changing! I could SEE where the dust was under the bed and go where I needed and be done rather than just aimlessly moving it around and hoping I got what I needed to. Lastly- the battery life was wayyyy longer than my Dyson. I even used it- LET IT UNPLUGGED for a few days, used it again and left it unplugged again and used- that to me is amazing for a small stick vacuum. All in all- this is definitely a little machine with a big presence! Thank you!Anna

This vacuum cleaner worked fine for the 1st week. Now it wont suck anything off the floor. Ive had to use my wand to do the floor. went back to my old vacuum. i tried everything from cleaning the canister and filter after each use, checked the belt, checked for a clog. not happy with it at all. Also the hose kept coming out of holder and kept twisting up like a garden hose.Ptb607

I clean offices for a living and have this eureka power speed vacuum at one of my buildings it is literally the worst vacuum I've ever used and believe me in 25 yrs I've used a lot of different ones. I keep it extremely clean but it's horriblely loud so loud the guys in the building I clean can hear it all the way through the huge building. Used it to clean my attic after forgetting to lay down tarp when roof was being replaced. Works well — good suction (used only hose with no attachment). I did however, pick up the nails and large wood shavings by hand before vacuuming. Bucket holds a good amount of debris. Please note my 5-star rating is based on the dry vac function with hose only. I have not tried all the connections, the wet vac function, or the blower function.obviouslynot

My wife wanted a miniature shop vac and found this one online. She read reviews and did her research. She liked what she read and bought one. She absolutely loves it. It is her opinion that even if you don't think you need one, you're wrong. It was originally bought to vacuum our large couches, she has used it on so many things I lost count. Since it's so portable, it gets carried from room to room to suction dust various areas and vacuum behind areas that are hard to reach. My wife states that it is the perfect size for so many cleaning projects that my full size shop vac is "too big and bulky to drag around." She's 100% satisfied.KS

I’m not a big fan of having to assemble things and part of this wasn’t exactly aligned correctly so I had to use some intuition as to why one of the screws wasn’t easily going in. As my title suggests, this vacuum cleaner is almost perfect. I'm a big fan of Shark products and have one as our main vacuum. In my opinion Shark vacuums are the best in terms of quality and cost. Recently I've been wanting a smaller, more convenient stick-like vacuum that we can use solely in our bedroom and bathroom upstairs. I didn't want to get another Shark because I didn't think we needed another expensive vacuum for smaller jobs. The cheap ones like the Bissell featherweight and Dirt Devil seemed to be a waste of ~$30 (I could be wrong), so I spent several hours researching on what I thought would be the best product for our needs within a reasonable price. Our requirements were stick-like/convenience, corded (not a fan of batteries, although technically it is more convenient), well-priced, and mainly we were looking for something that just had suction power (we didn't necessarily need a roller head). The main purpose of the vacuum is to pick up hair. With all that being said, my research led me to the Shark Rocket line and Bissell Slim line. What I liked most about these product lines is that they have patented technology for tangle free brush heads. Shark calls their technology Zero M, but the specific one we own doesn't have that. Our Shark Duo-Clean works wonders, but hair does get tangled up very easily, so after every vacuum I have to clean it out. As you can imagine, our bathroom has the most hair build-up. Originally we were using a wand like vacuum to clean up the bathroom, but obviously it doesn't work well to clean up the floors. That's why a stick-like vacuum cleaner was important so we could easily store it somewhere within the bathroom for convenience. The Shark Rocket Zero M is pretty expensive, so that was the main issue. The Bissell Slim is better priced, however, the specific model, 2897, seems to be only sold at Walmart and it is currently on rollback for $99! Fortunately there was one left at my local Walmart, so I bought it last night and cleaned our bedroom and bathroom. I'm really glad I went with this over the Shark because I feel like we saved money and the performance exceeded my expectations. A really neat feature that I liked was the ability to turn the roller head on and off. Even after I vacuumed with the roller head turned on, there was barely any hair tangled in the roller head, so Bissell's technology definitely works. The wall hanger and attachments it came with are really nice too. The reason why I said it is almost perfect is because it doesn't stand up on its own, so if it isn't hung up, it has to be laid on the floor if not in use. It's important to note, however, based on my research similar vacuum cleaners, including the Shark Rocket line, do not stand up on their own either. Other than that, I would recommend this product 100%. Emptying the dust bin is also very easy. The vacuum is not the lightest, but it's also not too heavy and it feels really well built unlike the cheap ~$30 vacuum cleaners.reny

I bought this after adopting a dog and realizing that I would have to vacuum every day. I wanted something light and quick to use all the time. Pros – cord is super long and I don’t have to move the plug at all for most of two levels – pretty maneuverable – cleanable filters – you can switch from carpet to hard floors super easily Cons – it’s pretty heavy, my arm is sore by the end of the job – static on the head of the vacuum collects pet hair that won’t ever get picked up unless you end with vacuuming a carpet – it doesn’t stand on its own which isn’t a big deal as long as you have a place to mount the holding bracket – it’s hard to empty the canister because you have to hold the vacuum up, push the button, and pull the canister out all at once and the canister has nothing to grab on to. I have big hands and find it challenging – the attachments don’t click on, they just slide on an get stuck so I have no idea if I ever get them on right – you have to let the filters dry for at least 24 hrs after washing which is frustrating when you use the thing more than once daily Overall, I would not suggest it if you are getting it to deal with pet hair regularly. It doesn’t get all the hair, is cumbersome to store and empty, and I regret buying it even though I got it on sale. Definitely would not be happy if I had paid full price. I still pull out my big vacuum often.momof3

I'm thinking this might be a get what you pay for type of product. When it works it's great, but along with other reviews I have to say the roller assembly is not good. While it picks up my pets hair really good, the rollers have a problem of the axle not being in the center. This causes it to vibrate slightly and melt the edges and the floor plate. The first time this happened after only 3 months of weekly use, Bissell replaced the roller and floor plate. Second time….3 months later, Bissell told me the original unit was covered under a 2 year warranty but spare parts were not. Since the roller had already been replaced, I was advised that this was now a spare part and I was responsible to replace. They also said this roller was expected to be replaced every 3 months. Long store short, the price of this Vacuum is reasonable, but expect $100 per year in operating cost replacing a $25 roller every 3 months. I will be keeping the handheld portion and it's attachments, but I will find another vacuum for the standup function. I will not continue to replace the roller after every 12 uses…that is just ridiculous.Brandon

What an amazing product. It is comparable to a Dyson but fraction of the cost. The beautiful item had a powerful suction and mobility is a plus. I can’t fathom how you can rewash the filter and the lightweight feeling of the machine itself. It comes with parts and packaging is clean and came in fast shipping. The suction will take dust, particles and large pieces of food and other particles left from kids and older people. I highly recommend this purple and orange colored vacuum. This lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner has good suction & versatility. It has a pretty good battery life. It’s been able to give us a good amount of run time after each full charge. It has no problems going from our carpet to hardwood floors and is easy to maneuver. The design and accessories that come with the unit makes it easier to clean hard to reach areas. Easy to dispose of the garbage after cleaning. We like that this vacuum is only a fraction of the cost of other cordless vacuums. If there was one thing we wish was better would be the noise level. I purchased this after searching recommendations online. It does not disappoint! I’ve been using for about a week now and have no complaints. I’ve not paid attention to the battery life as I’ve been able to get my house done without a recharge. Just moved to new state, left old vacuum for daughter. It was a larger Dirt Devil that we needed for all the shag carpet in that home, but our new home is a lot of hardwood and low pile carpet and I didn't feel I needed another large vacuum. Read some reviews and as with any product you will read "best" and "worst" – so you just have to decide if it's a chance worth taking … for me, IT WAS! I absolutely love this little devil 😉 lightweight and so very easy to use. Does a FAR better job than the traditional dust mop I was using before it arrived. I will say that we don't have children or pets, so it has a pretty easy gig. Doesn't have real strong suction, but very sufficient for our needs. Nice long cord. A snap to put together. Seems sturdy as I've dropped it 2x already and still works perfectly fine. Because it is small it won't hold a lot of debris, but again sufficient for our needs. I like that there is no belt that needs to be replaced and there is not rotary brush that needs to be constantly cleaned … I hate that! The only con is that it doesn't stand up by itself (need to lean it against something) but that was just a matter of getting used to leaning it on something and not just letting go of it. Works equally on hardwood and our low pile carpet. VERY pleased.Carol

I live in senior living, and not that strong; I moved into here with a Dycem. All the floors are laminate except bedroom rug. To use Dycem is difficult, is too heavy, and mars laminate. This little vacuum fills the bill, does not have beater bars, is maneuverable, goes up against baseboards and flattens out underneath things. The suction is excellent, gets dust, hair and whatever, and is very lightweight. Great simple solution, it was easy to put together and get out of box.Helofu

Really great at collecting fine particle dust, etc. Picks up from carpet, incl deep pile, or hard surface. Good power/suction and easy to switch from 'floor mode' to 'dustbuster' mode. My house is primarily hard-wood flooring, with several large rugs. So, I thought this vacuum would be perfect, since you can use it on both. I am so disappointed in this product! It works great on the rugs, but hardly picks anything up on the hard floors. I usually have to sweep after using this, not cool! Also, the chamber is pretty small and needs to be emptied every use, sometimes more than once. The battery life is terrible too, it barely makes it through the living room, dining room, and family room without dying. I don't know if I got a defective one, or they are all like this, but my house is by no means huge, and I feel like with it being brand new, its should have better suction and battery life. There is not an option to use it while plugged in, as it has a AC adapter for the power/charger cord, so if the battery dies, you're out of luck!Emily
