Best Vacuum For Picking Up Hay (2024 Update)

Having purchased two Dyson handhelds in the past, I thought I would give Hoover a try this time around (as I do own a pull around canister Hoover that I've had since 2007 and its been awesome) . Unfortunately, I am left disappointed. If you want a vacuum that won't suck up the smallest of crumbs but rather push them around and shoot them out in every direction causing you more work, clogs up with little to no dust particles constantly, and then get zero help or back up from their customer support, then this is the vacuum for you! Because the vacuum couldn't be returned to store once it was used, I contacted the company directly. They proceeded to copy and paste their "de-clogging" instructions, and then ignored the rest of my emails. I am capable of reading a manual and this didn't help me what-so-ever. I cannot believe they actually advertise this as a PET model, because I am using it for much less dirty jobs than pet hair and/or litter, etc. and it's essentially useless. The only good thing I have found about it is the dual batteries and the battery life. However, that isn't very helpful alone when the vacuum doesn't do its job properly. Unfortunately due to the lack of support from Hoover itself, I will not be purchasing any more of their products or recommending to anyone else.kmitschke

I am quite impressed with my new vacuum. Every detail of it seems well thought out which means a lot in this day and age. It really seems to be built to last a long time. All the electronic parts are protected. I really appreciate the brushless "digital" motor. Every little detail is engineered like the battery and charger LED animations syncing together. It came with a silent 4-amp fast charger that charges fully in one hour. This is even including that it waits to charge the battery until it is the optimal temp so it doesn't degrade faster. Each battery and the whole vacuum have a three year limited warranty. The batteries have built-in smart BMS's that communicate with the vacuum and charger to make sure the cells are within their optimal ranges. I noticed the wheels are multi-piece with rubber tread unlike other vacuums I've seen. The whole vacuum is quite simple and intuitive. The phone customer service was some of the best I've ever had. The packaging was recyclable, even the plastic bags. The regular mode seems to clean better than our old corded Shark vacuum and the boost mode is crazy and like suctions it to the carpet. It gets a whopping 9 minutes of run time on boost mode though. The brushroll head is like 3/4 the width of the Shark's so you have to do more lines. The brushroll motor stopped many times to cool down today while I was vacuuming our nasty apartment's carpet. I needed to swap batteries a few times. I charged the other battery while I was using the other. I got the second battery for free as a promotion and it's very needed. Being a cordless stick vacuum is really quite nice but while it can go all the way under couches the weight is located where your hand is which makes it feel a lot heavier than it is. The hours of online research I did was definitely worth it. It would've been a five-star review but Hoover/FedEx's communication on the payment and shipping was very non-existent. Did lots of research on many different brands/types of battery powered handheld vacuums for auto and coffee cart cleaning. I roast my own coffee, addicted to espresso daily and those things can be a bit messy at times. This vacuum makes very short/efficient work of cleaning everything I put it through. I could tell just by unboxing it that the build quality is outstanding just based on the feel of the materials used, let alone actually charging/using it. The system is very well thought out with every possible attachment needed for all sorts of mild/moderate cleaning jobs. Very compact to get into the most confined areas too. The filtration system is as efficient as advertised as it never loses suction and the actual filter stays spotless due to the design. Super easy to empty the filter container with no mess/inconvenience. Have seen a few complaints in reviews regarding the battery capacity and yes it does fade when being pushed on MAX cleaning, but it does a great/quick job nonetheless. People should understand you simply can't have MAX performance/capacity simultaneously… Both battery packs give good runtime for the use I put it through and charge in a reasonable amount of time and don't experience any sort of low self-discharge when sitting on a shelf unused for any realistic period of time. Nice to have the option to buy more packs as these age as we have had to toss other brands when the battery fades due to it NOT being user serviceable and just dies. Last point I will make is the awesome design of the powered brush roller as it works very well at various angles and being able to remove the brush roller for easy cleaning is ingenious. Most other brands require the debris to be cut/pulled off of that part due to terrible design.Thomas

Pros: Nice and light and portable. Does not tip over like the standard Henry. Adequate on carpets with no pile using brush facility. Cons: Suction is appalling. No use if you have to Hoover a lot of animal hair, just blows hair about and redeposits it elsewhere. Battery life poor, one full battery is not sufficient for the downstairs of a small two up two down. Takes about 3 hours to charge, which is a long time considering the battery life. Metal tubing comes apart mid vacuum, which is annoying. Regret buying.Gilly

LOVE Henry/Harry!!! Friendly little chap with a FEROCIOUS appetite. He's the vacuum we should have purchased YEARS ago, instead of all those bagless, horrifyingly expensive uprights, promising to be all we needed to keep our home clean and quickly proving they just weren't up to the job. One of the most amazing points about Harry is that he doesn't blow "wet dog" odours back out as he vacuums. Now the carpets not only look spotless again but the rooms smell fresh thanks to his charcoal filter. The electric lead is really long and the dust bag is massive so, all in all, no need to keep stopping to find another socket to plug in to, rarely having to fit a new dust bag and no stopping to pull dog hair out of his special "fur" attachment, because he just keeps going.AMAZING!!!We've fallen in love with Harry. Pros: Tube too long for me as I am short, but you can remove one piece of the metal tube to reduce length. British made. Previously had two small cheap (<£70) hepa 'Hoover' cylinder vacuums which funnily enough failed two months after warranty each time! Wanted new hoover to last much longer to be kinder to landfill (eco reasons) and it seems robust enough to last longer than 2-3 years, time will tell.There must be a reason why cleaners and builders routinely choose this brand!Great suction including large bits of kiddie-crumbs. Very long lead mitigates extra weight on stairs and less time changing plug sockets. Cons: Heavier than last vacuum (it'd be hard not to be, to be fair, as last ones were light). A bit cumbersome on stairs but long lead helps with that.L

So I've owned a Ball Animal 2 for about 3 yrs and have had a love/hate relationship with it. And having owned the Ball Animal 3 for almost a month now, I can honestly say I still have a love/hate relationship with this brand. I purchased the Animal 3 because I was glad to finally see that Dyson opted to change the Cleaning Head to what the UK variant has had for awhile now, which is having a carpet height selector. Now I really have to say that the Animal 3 has so much better suction with having the carpet height selector, but that also has a negative that I've found. I find it very difficult to turn now compared to the Animal 2 which turned on a dime. I will for sure keep it as I don't want to jump through the hoops of returning it, but I don't believe I will be making any future Dyson vacuum purchases in the future after this experience. The cost of these vacuums is very much on the high side and with that you would expect that they would do their own inhouse study/testing and they seem to have failed at this. In the end it basically comes down to the fact that the negatives outweigh the positives when compared to what you expect when making such an expensive purchase. Yes the suction is probably the best you'll ever have with any vacuum on the market BUT with negative costs. Being a "BALL" vacuum and unlike the Animal 2 that could turn easily, this thing is a major struggle to turn… NOT GOOD! The Animal 3 also has the same issues like the Animal 2 in that trying to use the hose is a chore on it's own. The suction is just so strong that you basically need to have the vacuum right next you or end up having to do things like… prop the vacuum around the corner of a wall and then stretch out the hose while also having some decent arm and upper body strength to do so with even minimal comfort. The "Cyclone" portion of the vacuum is a very poor design. Due to a common static charge while vacuuming, it allows for dust to build up in massive clumps within the Cyclone piece. You need to constantly bang the heck out of this piece while over a trash can in order to keep it even somewhat clean. And they don't make it so the Cyclone can be easily disassembled for cleaning which is a huge disappointment and failure within it's design. I also find it upsetting that even though Dyson offers a TON of accessories for these upright models… they don't offer one of the most common of accessories… a basic dusting brush! Yes it comes with a combo tool for crevice and dusting. They even offer a wide variety of other dusting attachments… ones that can twist for angled dusting, one that can bend etc etc… but then not your basic common everyday short dusting brush that's found on 99.9% of vacuums since they were invented. Really boggles my mind. No lie… since I still have the Animal 2, I took the combo tool from that one and ended up cutting off basically 80% of the crevice tool portion to make my own "basic short dusting brush!". Dyson if your listening: You should have listened to your customer base and address the issue with the hose being difficult to use. I'm sure there has to be a solution… maybe a hose that's not as stiff? Look into my "home modification" of the basic short dusting brush and release a factory version. And please look into the problem of the Animal 3 being so much harder to turn compared to the Animal 2.MotionMan

Dyson products seem to always be ones made to delight. I really enjoyed this vacuum which is an upgrade for my family over a Dyson – Cinetic Big Ball Animal Bagless Upright Vacuum – Iron/Purple that purchased from Best Buy 6 years ago. 6 years later and Dyson's vacuums are still amazing, this one has strong suction that you expect from the name and is somewhat smaller and more compact that the predecessor. I think it runs quieter too although I have not used the deicbel app to compare quantitatively. The smaller size means that there are spots in the corners and around furniture that are now easier to vacuum than before but the head itself sits taller, tall enough that I can no longer vacuum underneath the chairs and couches. The reason for the change in headsize is actually the main draw of this vacuum — the head has been completely redesigned so as to prevent the bunching of pet hair within the bristles. As we have a dog and two cats sharing the house with us, this has been a pain point in the past. Even our dysons need to be taken apart and cleaned of fur at least every 6 weeks so that they continue to run smooth. The early results from a weekend of vaccuming are very promising: the bristles are still out-of-the-box new despite several passes over our house that had gone embarrasingly long between vacuums prior delivery of a new machine. I'm hopeful that this is another part of cleaning that Dyson has made slightly easier.BostonBru

My experience with this rendition of their Ball design bears that out, and I've been largely pleased with it. The Animal version of the Ball is marketed specifically at people with pets, to clean up the hair from carpets and furniture. I find it's also handy if you or the people you live with have long hair. In general, it cleans quite well. It has very powerful suction and the power bar base has three settings for deep pile carpet, normal carpet, and hard floors. The power bar itself can also be toggled on and off. I found it cleaned my carpets quite well, though cleaning my hardwood left a little to be desired ( the instruction manual recommends turning the power bar off for this, I'm not sure why ). It also has a very generous cord length. And though Dyson created the Ball design specifically to make it easier to steer the vacuum around corners and obstacles, I find it much stiffer to turn than other current swivel head vacuums. I appreciate Dyson's design in the vacuum. It's fairly modular, making it relatively easy to service and maintain yourself, provided you can get a replacement part. The filters are washable so you can reuse them instead of constantly buying new replacements. It also keeps things slim and trim so the vacuum is a little more compact than other full-size uprights. This particular model also comes with two extra attachment tools. One is an upholstery brush/cleaner, the other is a pet grooming tool that's supposed to suck up the shedded hair as you brush. How well your pet will handle being brushed near a vacuum remains to be seen. But sometimes I think it tries to be too clever. It uses a friction snap instead of a pedal to release the vertical lock. It's usually fine, but it also means you can accidentally release the upright lock when you don't want to, like if you want to tilt the vacuum back and roll it somewhere or even if you pick it up and then set it down. The extension wand is stored inside the hose in the main column. This is nice for reducing the exterior dimensions, but it also means you have to unwind the entire cord and slide out the entire wand when you want to do some quick spot cleaning. You can detach the wand from the hose if you don't need or want the reach, like in a small corner or nook, but in those moments where you just want to quickly clean up some cookie crumbs or dust bunnies, it's more involved than you might be used to. The main handle is also reversed to accommodate the extension wand, putting the main column below your hand instead of above it when you're using the vacuum. This means the vacuum tilts back farther than others when using it. For myself, I found my legs and knees bumped into main unit a lot since it was now leaning more toward me. Most of these complaints are small quirks, admittedly. They may or may not matter to you. All in all, it's a well built vacuum, it cleans well, and it stores easily. It does have a few quirks and the "exhaust" air is quite hot, but these are minor complaints on an otherwise great vacuum.Jaron

Used it to clean my attic after forgetting to lay down tarp when roof was being replaced. Works well — good suction (used only hose with no attachment). I did however, pick up the nails and large wood shavings by hand before vacuuming. Bucket holds a good amount of debris. Please note my 5-star rating is based on the dry vac function with hose only. My wife wanted a miniature shop vac and found this one online. She read reviews and did her research. She liked what she read and bought one. She absolutely loves it. It is her opinion that even if you don't think you need one, you're wrong. It was originally bought to vacuum our large couches, she has used it on so many things I lost count. Since it's so portable, it gets carried from room to room to suction dust various areas and vacuum behind areas that are hard to reach. My wife states that it is the perfect size for so many cleaning projects that my full size shop vac is "too big and bulky to drag around." She's 100% satisfied.KS

I really like the portability and suction of this vac, the one thing I don't like is the hose design. I don't understand why the interior hole for suction is wider than the second hole inside the hose? What this does is plug the hose so you're constantly poking your finger in it so everything will suck into vac. It's like traveling down a 4 lane highway then running into an accident where everything slows down. Not that good for leaves on the firewall of your car. Best feature is the size and weight – so portable and light. Would be nice if the hose stretched a little farther, but then it might not store so neatly. You can't quite reach a full arm's length with it, but still quite handy. The suction seems quite adequate for a small unit (won't rival your shop vac or home vacuum, but good enough for small jobs) Battery removal and charging are easy, and dust cup emptying also easy. Haven't tried cleaning the internal filter yet. Price is higher than cheap handheld units (think DustBuster), but I think it will be much more versatile. I have a plastic wand from a discarded vacuum that will work as an extension. May get a better dusting brush, as this one has very short bristles only on one side (I like old-school brushes).SS in IA

I'm glad I bought this little portable vac. It works great in cleaning my van. I get a lot of fir tree needles on the floor mats. Using high speed setting with the brush was better that using the crevice tool for picking up fir needles. I was surprised the 2Ahr battery last a long time on high vacuum speed. I also used the battery on the Worx small blower to blow fir needles off the van and engine compartment. The blower was great for cleaning out the vacuum waste container and cleaning the vac hepa&metal filter. A great combination of tools.Harry46

I have had this for over 12 months now and still works brilliantly! I upgraded from a Dyson v6 and the quality of the Miele absolutely outshines the flimsy Dyson! Even using newer Dyson models since the upgrade I feel confident that I made the right choice! I love that when the motor is in the bottom position it is able to stand on its own. No need to lean against the wall or bench, being how I often dropped the Dyson! It is also so easy to move around, other people complain that it’s heavy, but with the motor near the head it is much lighter and incredibly easy to manoeuvre. The design of the head gives it stability and direction, using a Dyson the head often flips around, but the Miele is much like using a standard vacuum, minus the bloody cord! Even with the motor at the bottom I can still get under the bed. It’s just a fabulous machine! My partner is even thrilled with it and often recommends it to people. Great suction, run time and functionality. No complaints from me, and will replace with the same or newer model when the time comes.Rachel23

Purchased this at local Best Buy on sale. It's certainly heavier than the average stick vacuum however, there are options as to how you can set it up: motor on the top or bottom. When the motor is on the bottom, the weight is less of a problem and in this setting, the vacuum can stand upright on its own. I've read reviews that it is loud however, I don't personally find that to be the case. The dirt this picks up is quite impressive. I have a Dyson stick and it doesn't compare to the Meile. I vacuumed carpets with the Dyson first, then again with the Meile. The Meile canister was almost full in 5 minutes. It picks up dirt and dust not visible to the naked eye and missed by the Dyson. Battery power is decent and based on professional reviews, the best on the market. On the lowest setting, Meile says you'll get 60 minutes. It takes about 4 hours to fully charge an empty battery. The dust canister is smallish, but I don't find this an issue as Melie uses a vortex to compact the dirt and dust. It is expensive but Melie says with good care, it'll last 20 years and it's made in Germany. So, you get what you pay for. I have a Meile canister vacuum and I fully believe this vacuum picks up more dirt than the canister. It's also very easy to reconfigure the vacuum to how you wish to use it. Also easy to empty the bin.SMack

PROS: I haven't seen a vacuum clean up hidden debris this well since my mother's Swedish canister vacuum of the 1960s, which my little brother used to gleefully ride (a no-no). I'm done buying other stick vacuums that cost $150, last only 12-18 months, and do poorly in the last few months. I'm done feeling grit under my feet even after a vacuuming. This Miele stick vacuum is effectively removing the fine dust that has accumulated in the grooves of my hardwood floors. It has cleaned my wool area rugs so well that the beautiful patterns and colors are now restored. The attached picture shows the fine dirt and residual hair (yes I have a dog) the Miele found less than 24 hours after the last vacuuming by the $150 stick. I love the quietness of the Miele as I am noise-sensitive and this doesn't whine like others. I love that this Miele does not make me tired and sore after a short vacuuming (1150 sf of hardwood, ceramic tile, and smaller area rugs). I have the canister on the lower portion and it creates little to no strain on my lower back or my shoulders ( I am tall and not 20 anymore). It has a low enough profile to get under a good portion of my sofas, beds, and other furniture. This Miele stick vacuum is easy to maneuver, even with my non-dominant hand. CONS: As many others have noted, it's a bugger to empty the basket. I have a little knowledge of the German language, but I doubt it would help, so I reserve my German for a few cuss words. Both of us have read the instructions multiple times, looked carefully at the back of the book diagrams repeatedly and we literally practiced together 4-5 times each on emptying and reassembling the basket and accompanying parts. He remains a bit wary as he doesn't want to man-handle and accidentally break it. It takes practice and lots of patience, steady but sure, to become comfortable with this process. But it is well worth the effort because this Miele stick vacuum is exceptionally good at clean-up. The only other CON is the price. Using my store coupon, I was able to save $100. If this Miele continues to perform well 3 years from now, I will at least break even in cost when compared to my previously purchased $150 sticks, and the cleaning results will be superior if current performance continues. I bought this vacuum cleaner three years ago. It has very good sucking power; however, it is very heavy to lift to get it off the hard wood floors onto the rugs. It doesn't just glide on to the rugs–you have to physically lift it. Last month when I was lifting it, the handle cracked in half. I keep putting electrical tape around it and duct tape to hold it together but it doesn't hold. I am afraid I am going to electrocute myself.Theresa

This is a durable, great vacuum for cleaning hard floors and carpeted surfaces. Excellent suction, lightweight and a huge bag capacity. Definitely feels more premium and durable than the big-box stuff. Picks up pet hair easily. I use the HEPA bags in mine for added filtration. These vacuums are made to last and easy to be repaired if needed. I'd buy another one for sure.Michael

It was like a bulldozer was in the room! I had several of these machines over the years. They were great. This one was so loud the neighbors could hear it. I wanted to get a vacuum for my vet office to try and collect as much hair and dust as possible. Sweeping created "dust bunnies" that just swirled around and found hiding places, usually in expensive medical equipment. After much research, I ordered the GV backpack vacuum for the office staff to use at the end of the day. At first they were skeptical, but now agree it is faster and more efficient than sweeping. This also helps keep hair and dust from clogging my A/C filters as fast. We use it every day and have not had any issues. The vacuum is quiet as far as vacuums go, and the backpack design allows the staff to freely move around the office without dragging a shop vac along, bumping into and damaging the walls. I like the simple design and the hepa filter keeps the exhaust air from smelling like some vacuums can. This would be perfect for a multi-pet household where hair is a concern. This is the best vacuum I've ever used. The suction is tremendous and will even pick up small gravel. It is solidly built, but might be a bit heavy for some. I've found the backpack very comfortable and I can carry it around to do the whole house in one pass. I bought a 50 foot extension cord so I can do all the rooms without unplugging the cord. The attachments are standard size. GreatVac has super customer service: The first vacuum arrived DOA, they paid for shipping it back and got me a replacement in less than a week. I'd recommend the GV10 and GreatVacs to any of my friends.Robert N.

I first ordered the GV10 and it was a little too big. Sent it back a got the GV8 and it is perfect. It has powerful suction and small enough so when you swing it around while vacuuming you don't hit the walls. I not sure why more people don't use backpacks. They are real handy. You don't have to pull the vacuum around corners, upstairs etc.The cord it came with is plenty long and I find can do most of the downstairs without plugging and unplugging. The same is true when I move upstairs. In short, I would recommend the GV8. It performs as promised.Margarita S.

It's suction power is probably the best than any other vacuum cleaner in the world. It 's the best in US and UK. It is also the fastest cleaner since it's suction power is the best. Also comes with different toolkit for various types of clean. Carpet, wooden floor, car in the garage etc. So, the bottom line is if you have the $300 budget, go for this one. I thought the old vacuum cleaner was doing a good job, but the first use of the Dyson proved me wrong! It pulled up more stuff than I thought possible. I have heard about the Dyson ball for years, but had no idea that it really would make maneuvering easier. Since we have mostly hard surface travertine floors with several large area rugs, I like that there is an easily accessible switch to turn the beater bar off for vacuuming off the rugs without worrying about scratching the stone floor. The Dyson was delivered quickly, it was well packed and arrived in perfect condition all at a Sam's Club price. The only regret I have is that I waited so long to switch to the Dyson.KenLV

I have a total of 4 Dyson vacuums. Unfortunately I purchased 2 of these before I found out how inferior they are compared to the old ones that I have. I really do not like these ball units. If you try to wheel the unit to where you want to start vacuuming, the lock disengages and the head drops to the floor making it hard to get to your location. It is not just a defective one as both of my units do this. VERY frustrating. Then, when done vacuuming, it is really hard to lock back into the upright position. I feel I wasted my money on these 2. The price point at Sam's seemed like a good price, but really, it is not. Will NEVER get another one of these. Very disappointed with DysonAnn

The interchangeable batteries, the many attachments and the light weight of this vacuum is the only positives. This is my first cordless vacuum so I am not an expert but this is my observations after 1.5 months of using it. While I will say the hard floor power head works great for exactly that I must say the multi surface power head is terrible. After vacuuming a single 5’x7’ rug, the light goes red, the roller stops, and it needs to be cleaned. It’s not like we have a lot of hair in our house, just myself and my partner, as our dog does not shed at all. To clarify it comes with two full sized motor heads. One for hard floors (this one is great and hair doesn’t get caught in it at all) and one for carpet and hard floors (this multipurpose one gets a lot of hair caught in no time at all and will stop working until you take it apart and clean it) Canadian Tire does not offer returns on vacuums once you’ve tested them which I somewhat understand but it’s also a nuisance and it something that may hinder me from buying one from them in the future. If we hadn’t bought this vacuum on sale 50% off I would be quite upset. This vacuum feels very cheaply made. If you are looking for a cheap vacuum for hard floors then this one will do a decent job. But as for carpet this one isn’t the one.Heather

Opening up the box, this was very simple to put together without the use of instructions. It only has a handful of pieces that easily snap together. My immediate reaction was how topheavy it is- and NOT freestanding on it's own, which is a slight disappointment. This seems to be the norm with cordless stick vacuums. I do wish they'd find a way to allow them to stand, so you don't have to prop them up against a wall and hope they don't fall when moving something n the midst of vacuuming, picking up a toy you don't want sucked up, etc. After using this for some time, I can say that it certainly is not my favorite vacuum. Here are my main thoughts: I love that it is cordless and can't imagine plugging a vacuum into a wall after using this, but the battery life doesn't last very long and it's a bit annoying to always be charging this. It only comes with one battery, so you can't be charging one and using one- and they are VERY expensive to purchase from Hoover. It isn't easy to empty. We have a home full of pets so this very quickly gets filled up with hair, and it's not as simple as just opening the base and dumping it out. I have to reach my hand in and pull clumps of hair from the tiny crevices of the device. The topheaviness is really an issue. I can't tell you how many times I've propped this up against the wall, only for it to fall and scare everyone in the house to bits. Has an "extra" suction feature that is so loud its unbearable to use. There is truly no need for the volume to be amplified by 20 when using this feature. After only using for a few months, the bottom brush/roller is so tangled in hair that I need to take a pair of scissors to it soon, but am dreading it. I wish it sucked up this hair rather than tangling it in the roller. All in all, it gets the job done, but in your search for the perfect vacuum to spend your hard earned money on, I'd pass this one up.Courtney

When I first purchased this vacuum the battery died after 12 uses. Since it was under warranty I got a new battery. These batteries though are 3Ah. In order to vacuum my living room/dining room and kitchen though I must recharge two of these 3Ah batteries. A 3Ah battery takes me 4 hours to recharge but lasts 15-20 minutes depending on the setting you have it on i.e.CARPET or ECO etc. On another day I can then have them fully recharged to then do the kitchen/hallway or other small rooms. Therefore you MUST have two of these batteries. If you spend $300 on two 4Ah batteries you could do a condo sized apartment (1000 square feet in my case). Therefore the onus of technology improvement for the batteries falls on Hoover and they should thus charge less for these batteries. The cordless technology is nowhere near where it should be and for that reason I cannot recommend it to my friends with would prefer central vac and they are mostly in houses not condos. I always use the less draining ECO function on the vacuum and get 20 minutes out of each 3Ah battery. I believe two 4Ah batteries are sufficient for 1000 sq foot space to get done without needing to recharge them though but $300 for those batteries is like buying another high end vacuum cleaner.SD

Out of the box, the vacuum was great. Sucked up everything. Within a month, it was basically a glorified hand vacuum. The only way I can get it to do anything is to use remove the hose and the attachments. The actual suction when using it upright is terrible. It vibrates like a dolphining F1 race car, makes a hideous popping and hissing sound from the side, and worst of all, leaves fuzz, dirt , and giant hard balls of lint all over my floors rather than actually cleaning them. Using this vacuum is more work than simply using a broom and a hand held dirt Devil. Customer service was helpful in trying to fix the issues but the suggested solve didn't work. It does quality performing for pet hair to include the turbo extension tool for upholstery. DO READ ALL the instructions so you know how to properly use it. Don't assume! The tools are ill placed with the placement and storage of the electrical cord (always falling off). The telescope for the hose to attachments doesn't lock properly and always ALWAYS pushing back in. I don't have an issue with pet hair on the roller getting stuck, but I do with human hair and any amount of length to trash. The spot where the hose connects to the canister is constantly getting clogged because it is small and narrow, needs to be wider. Pay CLOSE attention when taking the filter out of the canister and putting it back; there is a reason it is meticulously marked. The alignment must be perfect or it won't go back together properly; this is the same for everything on the vacuum. Hard to push when vacuuming (hence one of the reasons I said to read instructions carefully)? You have to provide some air to release the amount of suction, so it moves easier with the little knob on the left; by the way, it moves also on its own.feltermail

Within 1 minute of its' first use this model #2475 Pet Hair Eraser Turbo had its' brush roll stop spinning before a small 10×10 foot area was complete. The belt assembly is centre mounted so debris from both sides of the brush roll collects towards its' centralized belt motor which sits open with nothing to protect it from debris. This results in it being the furthest thing from the "tangle free" unit it is advertised as. Removal of the head screws holding the bottom cover in place is quite easy so I was able to see what was causing the jam (see picture attached). The manufacturer claims the unit can accept hair length of 4-8 inches. The longest of the hairs in this pictures is 3 inches, so the job in question should have been well within the manufacturer's guidelines. Upon reassembling the base the unit promptly got jammed a second time. After once again removing the clog I decided to give it a different task, cleaning hardwood. This unit has a key feature for those with hardwood floors, its' brush can turn on/off, saving your hardwood from being scratched by the roller. Sadly there is very little suction (see video attached). I found without the brush roll spinning the machine picks up essentially nothing. The last major feature this unit is its' heavily marked "pet hair eraser" attachments. The Pet Turbo Eraser" is nothing more than the same "turbo brush" or "handi-mate" that has been commonplace on vacuum's since the 1950's. The "two in one" pet brush is a traditional fabric brush as is the crevice tool. There is nothing fundamentally different with these attachments than what is industry standard from most vacuum suppliers. I've had Bissell units before, the last being the significantly cheaper "Clearview Alergen Lift-Off Pet Upright Vaccuum." It lasted 2 years before dying a few weeks after its warranty expired precipitating the purchase of this Turbo model. All in all a poor vacuum. Don't buy this.Jimmy

Very powerful, light and maneuverable, the brush is driven by a separate motor, seams like a great design, but the brush allows hair to get right into the Barrings!!! I removed and cleaned the brush after 2nd use, found that some pet and human hair had gotten into the Barring, melted the barring cap and housing. the third use the brush stopped before i was done as it was bound up. I only used it for the upstairs of my house. I'll call support to try to get another brush, but how long will the last? after years of well designed brushes, WHAT Happened? were they lasting too long?DAVID

My little dog sheds an unbelievable amount of fur. I use this throughout my home. The best things about this product are: 1) strong motor; 2) it's lightweight; 3) the attachment hose is long enough that the vacuum doesn't collapse when in use; 3) disassembling the unit to clean is very easy, assembling is also very easy. I bought a well-advertised competitive pet vacuum during the pandemic shutdown. It caused me nothing but grief. I don't have the strong hands of a 20-year old any longer, so I dreaded having to clean the canister. There were times I broke into tears of frustration because I just didn't have the strength to move the parts in the same directions. (I put that product up on the neighborhood website "for sale" section, reducing my purchase price by 2/3. Still no takers.) I need a clean house. We’ve had this vacuum for over a year and I love it. -It’s insanely convenient. Quiet (can vacuum during nap time!), works great on our hardwoods and carpet (no need to switch to different modes), thoughtful wall mount with storage for all attachments. I’ve looked at a lot of other vacuums (including other tineco options) and this one seems like the best bang for your buck. Now, this vacuum has its quirks, and after more than a year of daily use, I’ve come to speak its language. But what you might want to know before buying- It requires maintenance. It’s not complicated, but I have to regularly check for blockages, as well as clean and replace filters about once a week. I failed to read the manual and did not do any of that the first couple months I owned it, and got frustrated with performance/battery life. But it was a very simple fix. And now I find I can still get at least 25 minutes of run time out of a fully charged battery- no different than when I first got it a year ago. -The suction does not overly impress my husband and is probably not top of the line. But we have two toddlers and a dog, and it gets the job done. We inherited a bulky (but powerful) bissel and I honestly never find myself needing to use it. We have a small home with birds and a dog. Most floors are laminate with two carpeted areas and one area rug. The price point and reviews online were positive. This stick vac does the job well and is easy to put together, easy to empty and takes very little space. The battery lasts long enough for daily cleaning. We’ve only had the vac for a couple of weeks but are very pleased with it. A video on YouTube helped answer any questions. So far nothing negative to share.Og

Recently purchased the A10 Hero Cordless Stick Vacuum for the upstairs of the house. We have two cats that shed hair here and there so we decided an extra stick vacuum on the upper floor would be so convenient. We already own a Tineco A10 Dash vacuum and use it for our kitchen and main floor hallways and very pleased with it so it was not difficult to decide upon getting another Tineco product. Our new A10 Hero works great on our hardwood floors and comes with numerous useful attachments. My favourite is the mini power brush attachment as it really comes in handy to convert to a handheld vacuum to clean the chair pads and the tops of the beds after our cats finish their naps. This vacuum is lightweight, has a fixed on trigger option and being cordless it really is perfect for us seniors. So glad we bought another one.EmL

I liked using my new vacuum and had no problem with it being bagless, but the extension cord would keep rewinding once the motor got warm. I was insulted when sent a email from Prolux that I needed to clean the canister to get optimized performance and the machine was overheating because I wasn't keeping the canister cleaned out. Oh, but I was! I was caring for the vacuum after reading all the instructions for best use and the canister wasn't even full but I'd clean it out before putting it away…then there was no suction (even with a newly cleaned canister). We took the hose off and was finding that the arc of the handle was gathering dirt and not carrying it out. Too much hassle so I got a refund.Bette W.

Pros: went together quite easily (I did read the manual) So far it has great suction, and easy to clean. Picks up pet hair really well, there was a lot of fine dust in the dust/dirt container when I emptied it out, so that is a good thing. Three cats and 2 labs in my house, and they are all inside/outside critters. The power head works well. I had read that people have issues with it tipping over. Didn't happen to me, and moves around easily. All the parts fit right into place, no gaps, nothing hard to pull apart. I really like that it is bagless. Cons; The box was quite broken up when it arrived, guess that is the delivery peoples fault. There were two broken pieces, one being the on board tool caddy for storage of the attachments (I don't believe that could have happened in shipping), one other broken piece of plastic, that came from somewhere, still trying to figure out what it goes to. The tank itself has a big dent in it ( it being plastic guess it's a manufacturing issue). The long floor attachment came with a long flat rubber insert for something (the schematics don't show where it goes). The crevice tool is quite puny. I had just assumed (my fault) that the power head would have a height adjustment. I had been using a Kenmore Canister for 20 years. So in order to vacuum carpet runners (7 feet long) I have to put a chair on the end or have one of the dogs sit on it, so it doesn't get sucked up. I guess that is a good thing that it has such good suction, better more than less. So far so good, I have not found the noise level that loud, my Kenmore was a lot louder. I have not used the furniture/stair attachment so won't comment on it. It does generate quite a bit of static when in use I guess a little shock now and then isn't that big of a deal. I did not rate the Durability or value for the money, because I don't have a crystal ball saying how long this vacuum will last. During the pandemic you can't always get what you want. I wanted to go to a store and buy a vacuum that I could see, feel and maybe even hear before I bought it. I'm a little fussy. Quiet is very important to me. It quickly became apparent that my only choice was buying online. I'm not exactly sure how I ended up on Prolux's site but I'm so glad I did. There was the vacuum I wanted: canister, quiet, lightweight, bagless, reasonably priced, well reviewed and in stock. An unbelievable sight after sitting at my computer for hours. I hit buy for an iFORCE! That was just the beginning – it shipped the next day (ground from Utah), arrived on time, environmentally packed (no styrofoam), easy to read directions for assembly and beautifully designed. This did not work after a couple days. It was just spitting the dirt back out into the floor in a different spot. It does not work like the old moosoo. My old moosoo still works great, but I needed to because the battery life wasn’t so great on the old one but this new one did have a good battery or a slightly better one. Other than that this one is nowhere near as good as the one I bought last year I was very disappointed in this, it’s nice that swivels around, but it still doesn’t pick up like the old one and the light on it is very dim when compared to last year’s mooso vaccum it was the white one this vacuum seemed sturdier, but it just doesn’t work. I’m returning this I have to have something that works. I absolutely hate returning things to the store but in this case I have too because I definitely need something that I can depend on. I purchased this cordless stick vacuum online through Walmart.com this past Christmas. I was my first experience with a cordless vacuum of my own. That being stated. I love this vacuum. It gets the job done using two different power settings depending on the amount of dirt you are picking up. It is very versatile and light to carry. It's ability to seperate into a smaller handheld vacuum is very convenient in small tight spaces. I like that it has all the desirable features that one would look for on a stick. First its cordless (the battery charges superfast) and can be charged connected to the vacuum for easy access, or seperated and charged on say.. a desk or counter top. I like that it does have a ball joint and pivots seamlessly in any direction you steer it into (makes getting into those tight corners easy). It also has a very bright L.E.D. panel on the front of the roller brush attachment (for floors). It has a good amount of battery life. I believe its 45 minutes? Though I can't remember the last time I vacuumed for 45 minutes straight. It always gets the job done without dying on me. It also comes with a wall mount hook you can install wherever you prefer to store your cleaning supplies. This comes in really handy as my roommate had an alternative branded vacuum that didn't have this and was always falling over (stick vacuums are typically top heavy). I would recommend purchasing the upgraded version of this vacuum that comes with additional hardware if you are a person who enjoys vacuuming (as I do). It does come in handle when you wanna vacuum additional places such as your vehicle upholstery or furniture. My overall consensus is that while its definitely not as powerful as a $700 stick vacuum. I had such high hopes for this vacuum based on the reviews. I was extremely disappointed. Though it's light weight, easy to use and picks up A LOT of dirt.. that's about all it will pick up. I have toddlers who find it humorous to smash crackers into the floors (carpet and hardwood). this vacuum picks up the finer pieces, but the tails of a goldfish for example and swept into the roller, and spun all the way to the left, missing the suction tube, and spit back out when the vacuum is pulled back for another pass. This was my experience on carpet and on tile. The roller doesn't seem long enough (bristles) or it spins too fast, but it can't even pick up when is in the shallow grout line. I have to clean the mesh piece and filter after every use too. I will say I loved the weight of this, the battery life was fairly decent for what it is, and the ease of being able to switch lengths was great.Brooke

I just bought this when my old shop vac (starts with a C) motor bearing burned out (it started to scream and smell). It has great vacuum and moves a lot of air for a shop vac. I will use this under my drill press, but also use it with my router table and wood shaper to keep sawdust down. I like that it comes with a 10 foot power cord, so extension cord is not needed any more and I can move it about without unplugging it. I also like it has a 2" hose instead of the 1.25" hose (most of the Bauer shop vacs have the bigger hose) and was a requirement for the aforementioned tools. Pretty good for the discounted price of $100. Assembly was very simple- 4 screws, one per wheel. Most of the accessories are in the tank. I hope this has better reliability than my C shop-vac. (I no longer buy "C" products because of poor bearings) Note that the tank is 14 gallons, but actual debris capacity is probably half that after the filter is inserted, but that is true for all shop vacs.Delaware Dave

We now have a dog which means both mine and my wife's car require deep cleaning. I had been using an old household vacuum cleaner that I had stationed in the garage but it became clearer to me that I couldn't pick-up all the dried food bits and dog hair with that vacuum cleaner. The Bauer Wet/Dry Vac is probably twice as powerful as my old home vacuum cleaner! It cleans out our cars so much better! I also plan to use it to clean out the ash from my Traeger smoker and suck-out the leaves that have been collecting inside my home A/C condenser. I only wish Bauer also provided a smaller crevice tool that can more easily access under and next to my car seats.Don E

I used mine on a daily basis. You can not beat it for the money. I use mine for hot tub drain and cleans. This vacuum is large enough to hold all the water my drain pump can’t get and strong enough to pull the water out the plumbing, even on the larger hot tubs with 60+ jets. I also run mine with out any of the filters and am constantly using it to drain water with extremely high bromine (chlorine) and both acidic and super hard water. I beat mine up and I still get 200+ drain and cleans out of it before the motor starts to weaken. I’m sure if I was nicer to them I could get it to last much longer. The fact that it lasts as long as it does with the way I abuse it says a lot about how well it’s built. I’ll be back for another when I blow this one up.Hot Tub Service Pros

Very light weight but hard to push on thick rugs. Falls over constantly but does a good job of getting dirt off the floor. Can't pick up big items which is to be expected with such a small vacuum. I have two cats who like to kick around their litter everywhere, and by everywhere I mean EVERYWHERE! Conveniently enough, my floors have little grooves in them (to make it look like realistic wood) making it nearly impossible to sweep up with a broom and dust pan. This was a GAME CHANGER!! It sweeps up all the litter and dirt that gets stuck in my floors, and because it detaches it’s easy to get into harder spots. I even use this on my couch to get rid of hair or “fuzzies” and it has never disappointed me!! I can’t recommend this enough, but especially if you have pets. Spend the $50, it will save you so much time and effort.Sam

Pros: This Dyson has such strong suction, much more than any model I have ever tried before. You can actually see the carpet lifting off the floor it's so strong. There is a suction release trigger on the handle which lets some of the air out making moving the sweeper easier, although this means it's not cleaning as well.There are 2 levels of suction, changed using the + and – slider on the top of the sweeper. When it's on the + option, the suction is even stronger. The actual engine part isn't that heavy and followed me around with ease.There are 2 little attachment tools to get into small areas, these click on very easily. One is a long thin nozzle with the option of using a brush on it and the other is a flatter one suitable for fabrics, upholstery etc. These come with a holder so they can attach to the long arm making for easier access when moving around.The dirt bin is large and can hold quite a lot. Emptying the dirt out is very easy, you press a button and the bin pops out. Then press another button on the bin to release the door and dirt falls out. The filter also just lifts out of the bin so cleaning that will be easy too.The handle on the engine is very comfortable and stable. Cons: The suction is so strong that it makes vacuuming really hard work, trying to move the sweeper across the floor back and forward really takes a lot of strength and effort. As I have a bad back this makes vacuuming painful for me. Although if the suction release trigger is pulled it makes it a lot easier (but less cleaning).Also, I am tall and therefore have the arm fully extended. I feel that this makes the arm feel less stable and also difficult to manoeuvre. Storing this model takes up a lot more room that the handheld unit or the traditional upright models.Lisa

Pros: I was really excited to try my new dyson and it didn't disappoint! It has a very sleek design and a long handle/tube making it easy to reach up high to do ceilings, light fittings, curtain rails etc. Its actually one of the best hoovers I've used suction-wise, yet despite its power, it is lightweight and so easily maneouvrable, (essential for me as I'm partially disabled and usually find uprights too hard to push and cylinders too heavy to drag). The tools make doing the stairs a doddle and the multi-floor head adjusts itself depending whether you're vacuuming carpet/lino/tiles/laminate etc.The clear dust collection receptacle has a max line so you can see the dust and fluff accumulating and is easily detached for emptying when full. It can be emptied and clicked back into place in seconds without the effort or expense of fiddly bags and filters to replace. Great for picking up pet hairs, I was really surprised at how much it collected compared with my previous cat/dog cylinder hoover. A quick rewind cord mechanism makes it very easy to pack away and store without a flex/cord to worry about.Overall a very good cleaner. So much so that my hubby had a go too and didn't complain and thats always a plus for us ladies!! NB Not sure that Dyson would claim this is the case with every man but it worked with mine 😉 Really happy with it. Cons: The only criticism I would have is that once you clip the hose onto the body for storage it seems to take up quite a bit of room so is therefore easier to store with the tube/head stood beside it rather than actually attached.Stephanie

When I received a call to test the new Dyson Ball, I was reluctant. I think the caller was surprised! But in all honesty after my back surgery, unfortunately I’ve found it a daunting task to vacuum. Moving the vacuum cleaner around, lifting it to change directions and overall manging to vacuum without being left in scrutinising back pain was impossible. I stopped using the vacuum cleaner and although it was painful to watch my children and husband vacuumed, I had no choice! After speaking to the caller and secretly, desperately wanting to find a vacuum cleaner that caused less/no back pain, I agreed to test the Dyson Ball. I used it several times before writing this review as I was sceptical and did not want other people out there with back pain to try something that could potentially cause further pain. I was pleasantly surprised! On my first use of the Dyson Ball, I managed to vacuum a complete room without any back pain. I found the Ball to be brilliant, easy to move and overall light to carry. I could move the Dyson Ball around without difficulty and the self-adjusting cleaner head is fantastic, which meant I had to do less physically. So, on using the Ball the third time, I continued through the living room, hall and kitchen, on different surfaces without any stress, pain or having to call the children to help complete the vacuuming! After using it for a couple of weeks, on several occasions. I am happy to recommend the Dyson Ball to all, including people like me who suffer from back problems and want a ‘Back Friendly Ball’, to vacuum with!
