Started using this product today. At first, I really liked it and thought it was nice overall. Then the smell hit. At first, I was like ah this is interesting. Not bad. But then it got worse. I was like why does this smell like this and what does it remind me of? I didn't quite like the smell, and as I used more of it (because the product itself is great), I then realized: it smells like cat litter. I'm going to return it for the coconut scented one and see if that one is better because the product itself is great. Very lightweight, sprays on easily, isn't sticky or tacky or gross. Left my hair feeling great, nice and soft, and actually made styling my hair a lot easier. It was just the smell that turned me off. First of all, Pureology can do no wrong in my eyes. Every single product they make is absolute gold. I loved having the opportunity to try this heat protectant smoothing lotion in exchange for my honest review. The 6.6 oz retails for $29 on the pureology website. That price seems pretty fair. I have long hair and I usually use about 2 or three pumps. It smells great and smooths any frizz. Also, a lot of people skip the heat protectant step before they blow dry, flat iron or curl, and the professionals will tell you that’s a big mistake. Especially for color treated hair. This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. I really enjoyed the shampoo from this line, but I feel the conditioner & smoothing cream are too heavy for my hair type. I shampoo and style my hair once a week and with the use of this product I had to shampoo after 2 days due to itchy scalp and just overall weighing my hair down. I use another high end line smoothing creams and I can go 6-7 days without shampooing. I’m all about that dry shampoo life. I really like this heat protecting spray, it smells great and it looks like it works so far. I started using it 2 months ago, straight after a fresh cut. Normally after about two months, I see my hair getting damaged, especially the ends, but it's not the case this time. I spray it all over my hair before I blow dry (I have curly hair that I blow dry straight in the winter) and on my roots when I need to freshen up with a straightener. Still in search of a heat protectant, sadly this one isn’t for me—far too greasy. You’re supposed to avoid the roots but that’s pretty hard if you have a pixie cut. Even a light application weighs my hair down and looks too greasy. I think if the nozzle allowed a more fine mist then it would work far better…but despite household cleaners having this ‘technology’ that lets you spritz or stream, beauty products never make a mister that will accommodate various strengths. So I end up having to place this so far from my head, to avoid the dang roots, that I feel I’m spraying the mirror and my face as much as my hair. If you have shoulder length or longer hair, this isn’t an awful product…but regardless of length, if you have oil prone or super thin hair I’d avoid! Meanwhile I’m just turning the heat lower on my flat iron as that seems to work just as well.

This came highly recommended to me so I was super disappointed when it continually left my hair gummy and sticky. I could barely get a brush through after styling! I tried a few different application techniques but couldn’t bring myself to use it more than 3 or 4 times before throwing it out. I really love the packing of this product, it looks great and has great functionality. I love how it makes my hair feel. My hair feels so soft when I use this product. I wash my hair everyday so it is always in need of repair and this is doing a great job. The only thing I wasn’t 100% sold on was the scent. To me the scent is a bit strange. I wish it was florally. It isn’t bad to where I wouldn’t use it just isn’t what I was hoping for. I would put purchase this product in the future because it really does work great. After much research, I bought Olaplex 6 + 7 and Kerastase Ciment Thermique at the same time. At first, I liked Olaplex more, until I found myself reaching for the Kerastase more and more until eventually, I exclusively only reach for the Kerastase. Olaplex definitely has a more silicone feel and more slip. My hair gets oily pretty quickly so it wasn't the best for my hair. Kerastase on the other hand…WOW. This stuff makes my hair noticeably more shiny and less frizzy, with no greasy or oily feeling. The second day hair is just as good, if not better! I have been heat styling every other day for 4 months and I credit this product as the reason my hair still doesn't feel or look damaged. This product is on the pricier side but it is worth every penny and a little goes a long way. I apply a pea sized amount to midlength and face framing pieces that get a lot more abuse, then another pea sized amount just for my ends.tp813

I have medium length, wavy, thin, dry hair, color-treated and prone to frizziness. First off, this product smells absolutely amazing and it lasts all day long. First of the scent is amazing. It’s citrusy but not over powering and leaves my hair smelling fresh all day long. It has a creamy texture that applied nicely to my damp hair and didn’t make my strands sticky or weighed Down. I purchased a small bottle at Ulta recently and wasn't very impressed. It makes my hair feel weird after I straighten it (I let the product fully dry on my hair BEFORE straightening it) when I run my hands through my hair, it would feel dry, starchy, crunchy, tight, I don't know how to perfectly describe it, but I do know it's not the best feeling. I'm going to stick with the other heat protectant from this same brand, the orange and white bottle. That UV/Heat protectant isn't as watery as this one, and it is slightly heavier when sprayed, but it dries down light, and makes my hair feel so soft! Fine-haired friends — use on wet hair! My hair is fine, recovering from bleach damage, and very prone to oil. I originally followed the instructions and used on dry hair, which was no bueno. It was too heavy and felt greasy. I then tried it on towel-dried hair pre-blow dry and it is AMAZING. My hair has never felt healthier in all my years of using protectants. Joico is a fantastic brand, and IronClad was phenomenal. Their new Hero with added shine is still difficult for me to adjust. I have long thick wavy hair that gets dry easy. I wash with all soft redken brand shampoo/conditioner. While wet, I add "United" Redken all over and I normally let it air dry (blow drying works fine too) I use hot tools at its highest setting (450) to straighten my hair. I would take sections, spray iron clad directly on my hair and style, and immediately after, my hair felt soft, light and never did more with it. Just perfect. Hero adds a gloss that makes your hair feel heavier in the beginning. I've adjusted by using less, spraying further away, but the results are the same. It's like my hair has to dry all over again. I still recommend this product since they no longer make my beloved IronClad. But just be warned, if you don't have dry hair, this will make your hair appear oily. I use hot tools after every wash – whether just the hair dryer when I leave my hair curly, or blow dryer and straightener – so I use a lot of heat spray to protect my hair. I've been in search of a clean heat protectant and this stuff is awesome! I've found that with my current aerosol spray, it really lingers in the air and I end up breathing in so much of it. This one does not linger in the air, which is a huge bonus. I've only tried it a couple of times so far, but it's really nice. It works really well and smells great too, but not too strong. It has a light, fresh scent. It is a very wet spray, so you just have to be careful not to spray too close to the hair, and wait a second for it to dry a bit before using a hot tool directly on the hair. I don't understand why Bondi Boost has their product reviews all meshed together in one, but this review is specifically for the Bondi Boost HEAT protectant. I just purchased my second bottle and something about this bottle is different than the first. I hate it. It's awful. It smells like windex and kind of looks like milky windex. Very odd. The first bottle I purchased back in September had mostly clear liquid inside. I even reached out to BB and they confirmed the milky purple/bluish color is normal with their modified formula. I have shoulder length platinum blonde hair, but a good 3-4 inches of my natural hair for a lived in blonde look. This makes my blonde feel waxy and almost crunchy. I don't understand why because my hair isn't damaged by any means, but something in the new formula doesn't agree with color treated hair, specifically blonde. I've seen other reviews with others having the same issue. So, if you have color treated blonde hair I'd give this one a hard pass. I purchased this product since I was looking to try a new brand of heat protectant. I really liked the scent, but I don't know that it is super effective for my hair. I found it odd that the instructions said to apply to dry hair, and I blow dry my hair so I ended up using a different heat protector on my wet hair. I used this prior to straightening my hair and it smelled good, but I guess hard to tell if it is effective since my hair still experienced the same issues with frizz/dryness that I did prior to using this. I also dislike the sprayer, it is very concentrated in one area so I ended up spraying in my hands and running through my hair so it could be evenly dispersed.abuff0916
This formula smells pretty nice and did seem to do a decent job helping to protect the hair. It added a little bit of shine as well. However, I do wish it helped to smooth the hair and control frizz better. I mostly liked to use it if I needed to refresh my hair and restyle especially if I was on second-day hair. I would spritz some product where needed and touch up with a blow dryer to smooth and style my hair again. I also used it when I needed to touch up my daughter's hair and preferred using it over plain water or a detangler spray. I'd probably only repurchase this for use on my young daughter's hair, it will be nice to protect her hair for when we have to blow dry it as well. For myself, I already have a cream that helps to smooth my hair and fight frizz better than this did, it also protects against heat. Like: the smell- it’s delish! Dislike: The stickiness/residue of it afterwards. If I got any on my hand, it would stick and feel not so great. Also, make sure to brush/comb your hair as soon as you spray it. I found that it kind of hardened if not brushed/combed out properly. Still trying it out- so I can’t see for sure if it’s working or not just yet. Definitely better than not using a heat protectant at all. I've been using this heat protectant for as long as it's been out now, and it's amazing! My hair has been at various lengths over the years, from all the way down to my bottom, to almost to my collar, and now I'm older so it's shoulder length. It has always worked great and I'm assuming always will! I have always had very thin oily hair, so its hard to find products that dont make it worse or weigh it down. I dont understand why people give bad reviews for a broken bottle or spilled bottle etc… it's ridiculous to give something a bad review, when it brings the points down and they haven't even used the product. i love this product and it does everything it says it should — my hair is finicky, so that's high praise. but the glass bottle? garbage. knocked it over one time and it shattered, and i do mean SHATTERED, into many tiny pieces. i keep finding them the hard way because they were too small to see to sweep up. t couldn't salvage the serum because of all the little shards! nearly $30 in the trash, itty bitty shards stabbing my feet, and oil/serum that took hours to completely remove from my floor. i understand sustainability, but surely there's a medium to be met here?
The product was okay; I used it for about 4 days. Then on day 5, the slightly oily bottle slipped from my hand to the tile floor and shattered – I mean SHATTERED- into a million pieces. Still picking up tiny pink shards of glass and also pulling them from my feet. Have used lots of oil type hair products in past and never had breakage like this. I would avoid based purely on packaging!
I wasn't blessed with thick hair. Mine is fine, medium length and color-treated (honey beige blonde) with a mind of its own. Until a month ago, my hair routine was shampoo/condition, work oil treatment through hair, use foam volumizer, and blow-dry. It infuses nourishing and hydrating ingredients into my hair and this makes my hair look and feel much healthier. It is also more manageable and less frizzy. I'm really confused by the positive reviews! This is the worst product in its kind I've ever tried – used after the Momo shampoo and conditioner and it made my hair crunchy and sort of tacky – it was more like a sea salt spray and nowhere near a nice smoothing heat protector. Waste of money!Gill
